Introducing Robin

I hate surprises. I don't know what it is about them that I hate the most. So instead, I've compiled a whole list of reasons!
  • I have no control over something complicated and requiring a lot of coordination -- the environment in which I so arrogantly believe that I thrive and excel in.
  • They reinforce the idea that I don't know everything in the world.
  • I am reminded me of the unwelcome fact that I can be very easily fooled.
  • I usually end up crying. Somehow.
But there is one surprise that I did not absolutely hate! For my 21st birthday about a month ago, a group of very thoughtful people chipped in money to buy me something that I have been wanting since I first started baking at the awkward age of 14.

My very own KitchenAid.

Introducing Robin: my brand new 5 quart artisan series stand mixer in a beautiful aqua sky blue.

I have wonderful people in my life who love me and "oh so selflessly" support my love of baking (I mean that very sarcastically because this is the type of gift that gives back in big ways). Thank you to everyone who helped bring Robin to this Batman, my new sidekick in this big bad world of baking. You know who you are. :)

This birthday was the best ever with a week and a half long celebration full of homemade pizzas, fun memories (yes that's right, memories), and delicious wine and beer. Every single day was awesome and it was this kind of amazing (warning, one moment of explicit language):

A huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of my life so far, big or small. Your love and support is what keeps me going every day. I'm excited to unravel the mystery of my future, but I know that the best is yet to come. And I certainly cannot do this alone. :)

Love,
Hien
